Developer Relations Engineer (DevRel)

About This Position

• Represent the company in developer communities through talks, hackathons, blogs, webinars, social media, and forums.
• Create engaging content such as sample apps, videos, and newsletters to showcase Squareboat’s work, culture, and expertise.
• Plan and execute tech-focused events like webinars, coding sessions, AMAs, and internal tech talks.
• Build and nurture relationships with developer communities, open-source contributors, and influencers to expand Squareboat’s presence.
• Gather developer feedback and work with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing) to improve the developer experience.
• Organize and participate in events like hackathons, community meetups, developer days, and webinars.
• Monitor community health and foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment.
• Contribute code samples and open-source projects that demonstrate best practices and product usage.
• Track and analyze key DevRel metrics such as content reach and engagement, community growth, event participation, developer feedback, and brand visibility across developer platforms.
  

You Need To Have

• ⁠1-2 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, developer advocate, solutions engineer).
• Proficient in at least two programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, PHP, Go etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in creating developer-focused content (blogs, videos, sample code).
• Passionate about building developer communities and helping others succeed.
• Strong understanding of AI.
• Strong understanding of APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.
• Experience in open-source contributions or managing technical communities is a must.
• Experience organizing or speaking at tech events is a must.
• Familiarity with DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), or developer ecosystems (e.g., GitHub, Stack Overflow).
• Prior involvement in building or scaling DevRel programs or strategies.
