Designer (not a template warrior)

Hiring a designer, not a Canva template warrior. (English, Remote) for TOAST.

Hi, I'm Simran - posting this on behalf of our founder, Aditi. We're building something intentional at TOAST - and if you've ever said that layout feels off, you might be one of us.

This isn't your typical we're hiring post.

This is a we're-building-something-cool-and-we-need-good-people post.

Designer (not a template warrior)

Not someone who copies Canva templates and calls it a day.

We want a designer who understands brands - not just pixels. You should know when to hold back and when to play, when minimalism speaks louder than color, and when motion adds meaning. At TOAST, design isn't decoration - it's direction. You'll design with intention, and translate strategy into visuals that feel like the brand.

What you'll do

• Create digital assets for TOAST and our clients - social, email, decks, and web.
• Design and build websites (must have hands-on experience creating sites on at least one platform such as Webflow, Wix, Shopify, or Squarespace).
• Work with writers and strategists to develop cohesive campaign visuals.
• Support visual identity work and help scale design systems across touchpoints.

You should have

• 24 years of professional design experience (agency, studio, or freelance).
• A portfolio showing brand-first work - not templates: social, presentation, and at least one website project.
• A strong sense of layout, hierarchy, typography, and color systems.
• Comfort iterating from feedback and aligning visuals to strategy.
