Design Engineer

Job Description:
Position Overview:The Design Engineer will be responsible for studying and interpreting product standards (IEC 60947 and other related specifications), understanding mechanical and electrical handbooks, and applying this knowledge to ensure product compliance. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, analytical skills, and a keen interest in standard-driven design. Key Responsibilities:Standards Research & Compliance:
Study and analyse (e.g. IEC 60947 etc) Switches related relevant international and national standards applicable to low voltage electrical switches.Ensure product designs align with compliance and regulatory requirements.Stay updated with new revisions in standards and recommend necessary design adaptations. Technical & Academic Research:
Review mechanical and electrical handbooks to gain insights into product functionality and durability.Conduct technical literature research to enhance product development strategies. Design & Drafting Understanding:
Work alongside senior design engineers to translate standard requirements into design specifications.Assist in creating 2D and 3D component drawings using CAD software.Validate designs against standard requirements through calculations and simulations. Documentation & Report Preparation:
Maintain detailed design records, compliance reports, and test documentation.Develop design verification plans based on standard requirements.Ensure all technical documents are well-structured and accessible for audits. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work closely with testing, production, and quality teams to implement design improvements based on standard compliance.Participate in internal discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance the departments expertise in regulatory standards. Continuous Learning & Development:
Attend industry workshops, webinars, and training sessions on IEC standards and compliance protocols.Encourage a culture of research-based design and continuous improvement within the team. Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. BSc or MSc in physics, electrical can apply. A strong academic track record, particularly in technical and theoretical subjects, is preferred.Experience: 0-3 years of experience in design, product development, or standard compliance in the electrical industry.Fresh graduates with a strong passion for learning and research may also apply.Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of IEC 60947 and other relevant electrical product standards.Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) for component drafting.Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles in product design.Soft Skills: Strong analytical and research skills to interpret technical standards.Attention to detail and ability to ensure regulatory compliance.Enough written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.A proactive learning mindset and the ability to grasp complex technical concepts.
