Role Overview

The Design Engineer -Process will be responsible for developing Basic &Detailed engineering designs for Municipal Solid Waste and associated Water and Wastewater treatment systems. This role demands strong technical expertise in environmental, or chemical engineering, as well as familiarity with relevant equipment and process systems. The engineer will ensure that all designs comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA)

1. Process & Equipment Design Develop Basic Engineering Package (BEP) covering selection of Treatment Scheme to meet Process Guarantees. , Process Flow Diagram (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs),Mass &Energy Balance, Hydraulic Flow Diagram(HFD) ,Plant Layout and Process Control Philosophy . Perform equipment sizing, material selection and Data Sheets Design layouts for treatment plants (solid and liquid waste systems). Develop Electrical Load list, Utilities Requirement Prepare Process GADs/Mechanical GADs(General Arrangement Drawings) 2. Engineering Calculations & Specifications: Prepare and validate engineering calculations for pumps, blowers, scrubbers, piping, and other system components. Specify mechanical equipment and ensure compatibility with process design and site conditions. Prepare Request For Quotation (RFQs) for Procurement, Technical review of Vendor documents (Designs and Drawings) 3. Drawing & Documentation: . Prepare and monitor Engineering Schedule (MDI), Generate and review 2D/3D CAD drawings, fabrication drawings, and design documentation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical files, design notes, and BOMs. Perform Inter Disciplinary Checks of Drawings /Documents Process Lead in HAZOP and CHAZOP Prepare Operation & Maintenance Manual for Project 4. Standard Compliance: Ensure designs comply with Project Specifications, national and international codes (e.g., IS, ASME, API). Coordinate with QA/QC teams for design validation and internal audits. 5. Coordination & Support: Work closely with proposal, procurement, and execution teams to ensure design alignment with project goals. Collaborate with Cross Functional Teams/System Suppliers to resolve design issues and Optimize solutions Support site execution teams with technical clarifications and as-built documentation. To participate in Testing /Trial Run /Process Commissioning to meet Process Guarantee Test Runs(PGTR) 6. Client ,Consultant& Vendor Interaction: Responsible to get Design /Drawing Approvals from Client/Consultant Collaborate with vendors to ensure correct interpretation and integration of specifications./drawings with Overall Plant Design /Engineering 7. Equipment Familiarity You will be designing systems that include, but are not limited to: Pumps: Centrifugal, screw, submersible, dosing, firefighting pumps Conveyors: Screw, belt, and chain conveyors Shredders, Crushers, Wind Sifters, Screens Reactors, Scrubbing Columns, Blowers, Fans Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Cooling Towers Water /Wastewater Treatment Units: RO, UF, ZLD systems ,SBR,MBR,DM etc Piping Systems: For water, slurry, gas, grit Dewatering Units, Gas Accessories (Flare, Flame Arrester, Compressors)

Process & Equipment Design - Develop PFDs, P&IDs, layouts (Revision history) 2. Technical Documentation - Prepare drawings, BOMs, specs - Completeness, client acceptance, documentation ,cycle time 3. Standards Compliance Design &Stds complying to -Number /Nature of non- conformities, audit scores Contract/IS/International Stds - - Client satisfaction, vendor input quality monitoring 4. Vendor/Client Support - Interact for approvals and clarifications Time,/Cost savings and capturing Learnings 5 Value Engineering Optimization/Standardisation

Academic Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Environmental, Chemical Engineering M.E. / MTech is preferred

Skills & Competencies Required 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in design for wastewater/chemical/MSW projects Strong knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) Familiarity with industry codes and standards (IS, ASME, API, etc.) Strong Design /Engineering skills Willingness to travel to project sites /Consultants office across India Reporting Structure & Collaboration Reports To: Head - Engineering Collaborates With: Other Engineering Disciplines Viz Civil,Mech ,E&I Supply Chain & Procurement Project Execution & Commissioning Proposal Teams Operation & Maintenance Teams Clients, Vendors, and Consultants Finance, HR, and Admin Teams
