Design Engineer

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Education: Bachelors degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering. Experience: 2–5 years of experience in plastic automotive trim components . CAD Expertise: Proficiency in CATIA V5 / CREO / NX, including Part Modeling, Advanced Surfacing, Sheet Metal Design, Assembly, and Drafting . Surface Design: Extensive hands-on experience in advanced surfacing techniques for complex automotive components, ensuring high-quality aesthetic and functional outcomes. Industry Experience: Product design and development experience in the automotive industry. Technical Focus: Design and development of structural parts and systems such as chassis frames, swing arms, and sub-level connecting components. NPD Experience: Proven involvement in New Product Development (NPD) design processes. Design Scope: Working experience in component and system-level design. Plastic Parts Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience in 3D and 2D design of plastic parts. Performance Standards: Ensure designs meet requirements for fit, finish, durability, and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) performance. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to define specifications, resolve technical challenges, and ensure timely component delivery. Methodologies: Basic knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and DFM/DFA principles. Standards: Knowledge of ISO and ASME standards. Feasibility Analysis: Experience in manufacturing and assembly feasibility studies. Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of tooling, plastic molding, die casting, and 3D printing technologies. Soft Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and technical report writing skills. Analysis Tools: Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD).
