Design Engineer

Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech / BE – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and design sheet metal components, assemblies, and enclosures as per project requirements.

· Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and production files using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

· Work on sheet metal part modelling, flat patterns, tolerances, and manufacturability requirements.

· Coordinate with production teams to ensure manufacturability and resolve any design-related issues.

· Understand and apply machining processes such as Laser Cutting, Turret Punching, Press Brake Bending, welding, and fabrication processes.

· Optimize design for manufacturing (DFM), cost reduction, and assembly efficiency.

· Collaborate with quality, purchase, and fabrication departments for sample development and design approvals.

· Create assembly drawings, exploded views

· Review and improve existing designs based on production feedback or quality issues.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.

· Handle design change requests (ECR/ECN) and maintain documentation.

Technical Skills Required:

· Expertise in SolidWorks

· Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D drafting.

· Strong knowledge of sheet metal design principles, GD&T, tolerances, and finishing processes.

· Hands-on understanding of fabrication methods:

o Laser cutting

o Turret punching

o Press bending

o Welding & fabrication

o Mechanical assembly

o Powder coating & surface treatment

· Familiarity with machining standards and BOM creation.

· Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and engineering change management.

Soft Skills:

· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

· Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

· Attention to detail with a quality-first mindset.

Additional Requirements (Optional):

· Experience in enclosure design, metal cabinets, or industrial products.

· Exposure to prototyping and testing processes.

· Understanding of ERP & SAP systems for design and production integration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹750,000.00 per year
