Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities Design of all types scaffolding projects, mainly in the Nuclear, petrochemical and energy industries, both onshore and offshore. Production of drawings and 3D models using Tekla Structures (Scaffplan) and AutoCAD Interpreting design details from site sketches, existing 2D drawings, 3D models (Navisworks etc.) and 3D laser scans. Liaise with UK design team and site teams as required. Creation of detailed engineering calculations in accordance with the relevant British and European standards using both Excel based calculations and structural analysis software (Bentley RAM Elements or Autodesk Robot) where required. Production of all relevant documentation including Design Risk Assessment, Inspection Schedule and Design Plan in adherence with company procedures, CDM regulations, British Standards and Industry Guidance.
