Deputy Manager [Marketing] 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) The Deputy Manager – Marketing in the 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) sector is a key role that involves business development, client relationship management, and marketing strategies for warehousing and logistics solutions. The person in this role is responsible for acquiring new business, expanding market share, and ensuring that the company’s services meet client needs effectively. Here’s a breakdown of the responsibilities and qualifications for this role: Key Responsibilities: Client Acquisition & Business Development: The primary responsibility is to procure 3PL business , leveraging an existing database of contacts and networks in the logistics and warehousing industry. Engage in leasing warehouse spaces and managing operations when necessary, ensuring that the services are operational and aligned with client expectations. Sales of Warehouse Services: Selling warehouse spaces and 3PL warehouse services is a crucial task. The Deputy Manager needs experience in selling these services and should understand the logistics and warehousing industry thoroughly. Market Trend Monitoring: Keep an eye on market trends to identify new business opportunities . This includes staying up-to-date with industry shifts, client demands, and emerging competitors in the 3PL and warehousing space. Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong business relationships with both existing clients and internal departments. Manage key accounts with existing clients, aiming to spot new business opportunities while maintaining and growing current client relationships. Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a business development strategy that tracks potential customers, increases the company’s market share , and ensures the overall success of the 3PL business. Proficiency in Contract Logistics and Solution Selling: Demonstrate expertise in contract logistics services and solution selling . This includes selling tailored logistics and distribution solutions that match client needs and expectations. Prospecting and Lead Generation: Actively prospect and identify potential clients through multiple channels, including direct outreach, digital marketing, and networking. Market Research: Lead market research to assess the viability of new products or services in the market. This involves understanding market needs, customer behavior, and competitor offerings to drive business growth. Analyzing Marketing Data: Analyze marketing data to evaluate the success of campaigns and strategies, with a goal to improve brand exposure and reach in the logistics and warehousing market. Team Management & Sales Leadership: Lead and manage sales teams , ensuring they meet deadlines and sales targets . This includes providing guidance, motivation, and tracking team performance. KPI Development & Process Management: Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) , setting goals and tracking team progress to ensure accountability and success in business development efforts. Other Tasks as Assigned: Perform other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in the role. Required Qualifications: Minimum Qualification: Full-time Engineering Graduate (any specialization) or 2 years’ MBA or Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Management . Preferred Experience: Experience in the 3PL Industry : Prior experience in the warehouse services and 3PL industry is highly preferred, with a deep understanding of how these operations work. Sales and Marketing in Logistics : Experience in selling warehouse space and providing 3PL solutions to clients is essential. Client Relationship Management : Demonstrated success in managing key client accounts and maintaining strong business relationships. Market Research and Business Development : Experience in conducting market research and formulating business development strategies to identify new opportunities. Skills and Competencies: Strong Sales Abilities : Ability to sell warehousing and logistics services, identify client needs, and present tailored solutions. Excellent Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders. Market Insight : Deep knowledge of market trends and competitor landscape in the 3PL sector. Team Leadership : Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve targets and grow the business.
