Job Title: Manager / Senior Manager Procurement

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager – Procurement will oversee sourcing and procurement activities for automation equipment, components, and services. This role requires strong expertise in industrial automation products, vendor management, and strategic sourcing to ensure timely availability of high-quality materials at optimal cost. Strong knowledge of Planning & Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement:

    • Develop procurement strategies for automation components

(PLC, sensors, drives, robotics, control systems).

    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate long-term contracts with OEMs and distributors.
  • Vendor Development & Management:

    • Build relationships with global and local suppliers in the automation industry.
    • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and compliance.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO, RoHS) and company policies.
    • Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions and technology obsolescence.
  • Project Coordination:

    Liaise with project managers, engineering, and design teams to align procurement plans with project schedules and technical requirements.
  • Supplier Performance Management:

    Monitor vendor performance, delivery timelines, and service quality; resolve supply chain issues proactively.
  • Logistics Management:

    Sustaining / Building up of the logistics network to ensure timely distribution of the merchandise, monitor availability of stock, make appropriate arrangements to ensure on time deliveries . Managing Logistics operations involving coordination for transport and other external agencies to achieve seamless & cost-effective distribution solutions.
  • SAP & MRP Execution:

    Utilize SAP MM module for material planning, PR-to-PO conversion, inventory tracking, and procurement analytics
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:

    Ensure procured materials meet technical specifications, quality benchmarks, and regulatory standards.
  • Budget & Cost Optimization:

    • Monitor procurement budgets and achieve cost reduction targets.
    • Prepare reports on procurement KPIs and savings achieved.
  • Technology & Process Improvement:

    • Implement e-procurement tools and automation in procurement processes.
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in industrial automation.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve departmental objectives.
    • Foster collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams.
