Job Description

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager HR will support and manage key HR functions including Training & Development, Integrated Management Systems (IMS), Sustainability initiatives, HRMS administration, Performance Management System (PMS), and select administrative responsibilities. The role ensures smooth HR operations, compliance, process improvement, and capability building across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training & Development

  • Identify training needs through discussions with HODs and performance reviews.
  • Create annual training calendars and budgets.
  • Coordinate internal/external training programs.
  • Maintain training records, feedback, evaluation, and effectiveness reports.
  • Support employee development initiatives and succession planning.

2. Integrated Management Systems (IMS) – ISO 9001, 14001, 45001

  • Ensure compliance with IMS documentation and standards.
  • Assist in internal audits, external audits, and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain SOPs, manuals, risk assessments, and quality/safety/environment documentation.
  • Drive awareness sessions for quality, safety, and environmental standards.

3. Sustainability

  • Implement sustainability policies and initiatives.
  • Track and report sustainability KPIs (waste, emissions, energy, water, CSR activities).
  • Coordinate audits and compliance related to ESG/sustainability frameworks.
  • Promote green practices and employee engagement programs.

4. HRMS Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day HRMS operations (attendance, leave, timesheets, workflows).
  • Coordinate with IT/vendor for system updates, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timely updation of employee information.
  • Train employees and managers on HRMS features and usage.

5. Performance Management System (PMS)

  • Manage the annual and mid-year performance review cycles.
  • Track goal setting, review submissions, and appraisal documentation.
  • Assist managers with competency mapping, KPI setting, and evaluation methods.
  • Generate PMS reports for leadership decision-making.

6. HR & Administration Support

  • Assist in onboarding, induction, policy communication, and employee engagement.
  • Support admin functions like travel, events, facility coordination (where required).
  • Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and compliance registers.
  • Handle HR reports, dashboards, and MIS as required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, ISO/IMS standards, and training methodologies.
  • Understanding of sustainability/ESG practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical ability with data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in HRMS tools and MS Office.
  • Coordination and stakeholder management skills.
