Job Description: Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager -Business Development (B2B Project Sales & Business Development) Position Title: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager East India Project Sales & Business Development Department: Business Development Projects EPC/ MEP & Civil Interior Reporting To: Senior Manager East - Projects EPC/ MEP & Civil Interior Location: Kolkata / Bhubaneswar Vacancy - 2 No Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Business Development and Sales for East Zone to lead our efforts in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) & GC ( General Contracting ) Projects . The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of the Project industry mainly into Corporates and Government for application areas like Offices , Education , Healthcare , Hospitality , Retail , Data Centres , Residential , Infra ( airports / metro stations ) and facility management having excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in business development. Key Responsibilities: Business Development and Client Acquisition and Relationships. Independently identify and pursue new business opportunities in relevant sectors and application area. Key Account Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners. Empanelment and vendor registrations Client presentations, negotiations, and contract finalization to secure new projects. Strong Connect with Architects / MEP consultants / PMCs / Builders & Developers/ Big Contractors. Strong network with Procurements / Admin / Project verticals of project Owners in Corporates and Government. Relationship with OEM network and influencers. Address client concerns and feedback to strengthen relationships and improve service delivery. Proposal and Bid Management: Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, bids, and tenders for projects. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, finance, legal) to ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activities. Analyze customer needs and market dynamics to refine business strategies and improve competitiveness. Revenue Generation and Target Achievement: Drive the achievement of individual and team sales targets for the EPC & GC projects division. Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure effective conversion of leads into projects. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, procurement, operations, legal, and finance) to align on project requirements and deliverables. Ensure seamless execution of business development strategies and project handover processes. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, including pipeline status, target vs. achievement, and market insights. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, proposals, and contracts. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, mainly into civil / mechanical / electrical. MBA / Construction management from NICMAR added advantage Minimum of 5 + years of experience in business development. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong understanding of project lifecycle, tendering and bidding processes, and contract management. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics platforms. Key Competencies: Planning and problem-solving abilities. Key Account management Customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering results. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. Ability to make effective conversations with Project Owners/Architects/Project Management Consultants / Influencers Ability to travel extensively Engage Project influencers. Local language as per location of posting is must along with English and Hindi. Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently.
