Job Summary:

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Business Intelligence will lead the BI function within a leading Medical Coding organization. This strategic role focuses on leveraging data analytics to enhance coding accuracy, optimize revenue cycle management (RCM), and improve operational efficiency. The DGM will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and drive business growth through data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the BI team to deliver impactful analytics solutions.
  • Define and implement BI strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Ensure BI frameworks comply with healthcare regulations.

2. Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Manage large datasets related to coding, billing, and RCM.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools.
  • Identify trends and anomalies in coding and claims data.
  • Apply predictive and prescriptive analytics for strategic decisions.

3. Process Optimization

  • Analyze workflows to identify automation and efficiency opportunities.
  • Integrate BI tools with EHRs, coding software, and RCM platforms.
  • Explore AI/ML applications to enhance data processing and reporting.

4. Client Collaboration

  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored BI solutions.
  • Provide insights on coding trends, compliance, and denial management.
  • Ensure BI deliverables meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure BI practices align with HIPAA, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and CMS guidelines.
  • Conduct audits and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry changes and adapt BI processes accordingly.

6. Team Development

  • Mentor BI analysts, data scientists, and developers.
  • Promote continuous learning and innovation within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s in Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field. MBA or Master’s preferred.
  • Certifications:

    Preferred certifications in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience:

    8–10 years in BI/Data Analytics, with 5+ years in healthcare or medical coding.
  • Tools Required:

    Power BI, Advanced Excel
  • Good to Have:

    Python, Tableau, SQL, RCM platforms (Epic, Cerner, 3M, Kareo)
