Job Summary: The Helper Cook assists the main cook or chef in preparing meals and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. This role includes food preparation, washing and cutting vegetables, cleaning utensils, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist the cook/chef in daily food preparation and cooking. Wash, peel, chop, and cut vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and work areas. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes. Store food items properly and check for freshness and quality. Assist in arranging and serving food when required. Follow all safety and hygiene procedures as per company policy. Support kitchen staff in inventory management and restocking supplies. Skills & Qualifications: Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety. Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision. Good teamwork and communication skills. Physically fit to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks. Prior experience as a kitchen helper or cook assistant is an advantage. Work Environment: Fast-paced kitchen setting (restaurant, hotel, cafeteria, or catering). Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays if required.
