Role Summary The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive DefineRights growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities within the life sciences sector. The role requires someone who can connect client operational challenges to DefineRights capabilities in improving business effectiveness through targeted, technology-driven solutions. Prior experience working with or for a life sciences service provider is mandatory. Key Responsibilities New Business Generation Identify and pursue new client opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device organizations. Qualify leads and align them with DefineRight’s service lines and discovery-led engagement model. Build and maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline with quarterly growth targets. Client Engagement & Relationship Building Develop trusted relationships with key business and IT stakeholders. Understand client pain points and position DefineRight’s offerings as tailored solutions. Deliver high-quality presentations, proposals, and capability showcases. Market Strategy & Positioning Contribute to DefineRight’s Go-to-Market plan and demand generation campaigns. Track market trends, competitor moves, and client needs in the life sciences technology landscape. Support thought leadership initiatives through case studies, events, and content collaborations. Internal Collaboration Work closely with leadership, marketing, and delivery teams to co-create proposals and collateral. Collaborate with solution leads to scope out PoCs and solution demos. Travel This role will require occasional international travel (primarily to the US and UK) for client meetings, conferences, and industry events. Travel frequency will vary based on business opportunities and client engagements, typically up to 15–20% annually . The candidate should hold or be eligible to obtain a valid business travel visa for these regions. Required Experience & Skills 6-10 years of experience in business development or account management in the life sciences services industry. Mandatory: Prior experience with a life sciences consulting, technology, or service provider. Proven track record of generating, managing, and closing opportunities within pharma, biotech, or medtech. Understanding of life sciences domains — Commercial, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Quality. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills. Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable in a lean, consultative environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Databricks, Smartsheet, or Office 365 and new emerging technologies. Understanding of digital transformation, process automation, and data analytics initiatives. Existing professional network within mid-sized or global life sciences organizations.

Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and experience working in cross-functional teams. Proficiency in using business analysis tools and software. Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, or Life Sciences domains are advantageous.
