As a Database Architect, your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-level database systems. You will need to have a strong background in database architecture, performance tuning, and data modeling to ensure scalability, security, and high availability of critical applications. Your collaboration with development, infrastructure, and business teams is crucial for delivering reliable and efficient database solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Database Design & Architecture: - Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models. - Define database standards, architecture patterns, and best practices. - Develop scalable solutions to support transactional and analytical workloads. - Performance & Optimization: - Conduct performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization. - Implement monitoring solutions to ensure database health and performance. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues. - Data Management & Security: - Ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability across systems. - Define and enforce database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. - Oversee data migration, integration, and transformation processes. - Collaboration & Leadership: - Work closely with application developers to optimize database queries and schema design. - Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into database solutions. - Mentor junior database engineers and DBAs. Qualifications Required: - 6-7 years of experience in database design, development, and administration. - Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL. - Proficiency in data modeling (ER, UML, star/snowflake schemas) and database normalization. - Hands-on experience with ETL tools, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and partitioning. - Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL) preferred. - Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) is a plus. - Strong skills in backup, recovery, and high-availability (clustering, replication, sharding). - Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
