Data manager

Job Description:
The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing the collection, organization, and management of all data within the company, primarily photography files and operational data. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with data management systems, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of how data can be used to support business decisions. You will work closely with other departments to ensure that the company’s data infrastructure is optimized for efficiency and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the collection, storage, and management of various types of data (client, financial, photography, operational, etc.).
• Develop and maintain a system for organizing and tracking data to ensure its accuracy, accessibility, and security.
• Manage and optimize the company’s data infrastructure, ensuring that data is stored in an efficient and organized manner.
• Regularly clean and update data to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Work with various departments (sales, marketing, finance, etc.) to ensure they have access to the necessary data to support their operations.
• Analyze data trends to provide insights that can help inform business decisions and strategy.
• Implement data backup and recovery procedures to ensure the protection of critical information.
• Collaborate with external vendors or software providers to ensure the company is utilizing the best tools for data management.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
• Generate and present regular reports on data quality, trends, and insights for leadership and other departments.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Data Manager or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of data management systems and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, or specific industry tools).
• Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and leverage data to drive business decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing data-related challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud-based data storage and backup solutions.
• Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.
• Experience in the photography or creative industries is a plus.
