We re seeking a talented Data Engineer to join the Australia Data tribe within our Retail & Commercial division. In this role, youll design and implement data processing solutions that support analytics, reporting, and data development across the division. You will drive best practice data engineering, challenge inefficient practices, and influence change to improve business outcomes. Your work will focus on delivering end-to-end solutions, uplifting the data engineering capability within the tribe, and aligning with the broader Enterprise Analytics roadmap. What will your day look like Working in an engineering focused squad to build DataOps tools which can be adopted by a large data community Follow CI/CD and DataOps best practices to continuously improve the development lifecycle of data applications Support delivered tooling and managed services for mission critical workloads What will you bring We are looking for a Data Engineer with hands-on experience in modern data technologies, and an ability to handle fast moving day-to-day development workload. Demonstrated experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and collaborative coding practices 1-3 years of experience in software engineering practice and exposure to projects with complex codebase Demonstrated experience in Python and test-driven development (TDD) Exposure to CI/CD toolchains e.g. Codefresh/Argo CD, Docker/Kubernetes, Artifactory Understanding of modern data processing tools and frameworks e.g. Airflow, DBT and working with object storage
