Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Pricing Analyst to join our Pricing and Reporting business unit for a pivotal project within the Automobile industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving pricing strategies for tires and services, leveraging their strong analytical skills and in-depth understanding of pricing dynamics in the automotive market. Responsibilities: 1. Competitive Pricing Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis to determine competitive pricing strategies for tires and services within the automobile industry. Utilize market research, competitive intelligence, and internal data to identify pricing trends, customer preferences, and market opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing models and strategies that align with business objectives and market dynamics. 2. Benchmarking and Web Scraping: Employ advanced web scraping techniques to gather pricing data from various online sources, including competitor websites and industry platforms. Conduct benchmarking analysis to compare our pricing strategies with competitors' offerings across different geographical regions and customer segments. Continuously monitor pricing trends and competitor actions to identify pricing differentials and areas for improvement. 3. Regular Price Monitoring: Implement a systematic approach to monitor and analyse competitor prices on a weekly basis. Core understanding of P&L statements including profitability metrics and components impacting expense. Experience in building reporting with PowerBI and using PowerPoint also preferred. Responsibilities also include building reporting to assess performance of price changes and promotions, and price change impact studies. Utilize statistical techniques and data visualization tools to track pricing fluctuations and market trends. Generate regular reports and insights to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations for pricing adjustments. 4. Spot Checking Competitor Prices: Perform ad-hoc spot checks on competitor prices through web scraping and other monitoring tools. Monitor pricing changes in real-time and provide timely updates to the pricing team and relevant stakeholders. Analyse competitor promotions, discounts, and pricing strategies to inform our tactical responses and competitive positioning. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing analysis, market research, or related roles, preferably within the automobile industry. Proven expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, and proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R. Strong understanding of pricing strategies, methodologies, and competitive dynamics in the automotive market. Experience with web scraping techniques and familiarity with relevant tools and libraries (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy) is highly desirable. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex pricing insights to diverse audiences. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving business requirements and priorities.
