Job Description

Position Title: Dam Instrumentation & Monitoring Specialist [International Expert] Key Qualifications/ Requirements: He/she should have a degree in any branch of Engineering and should have at least of 10 years in planning of instrumentations, technical specifications of instruments, SCADA, Surveillance, Control System, and automation in dams, data analysis, preparation of instrumentation plan of dams, work supervision of installation and commissioning of dam instrumentation etc. in minimum 3 large dams. Job Descriptions: Serve as the Nodal Expert for overall coordination and implementation of DHARMA after DTL and TL. Review instrumentation action plans in all Project Screening Templates (PSTs) and finalize them concerning instrumentation, SCADA, and Surveillance & Control Systems. Provide technical support for the establishment of Centralized Control and Command Centres in various State capitals and individual control rooms at DRIP dams. Oversee data collection, transmission, processing, and analysis, and finalize outcome report protocols. Ensure proper O&M of established instrumentation at DRIP dams. Manage technical hardware, software, and data transmission for all instrumentation plans designed or received from DRIP IAs. Prepare technical bid documents as needed, focusing on bill of quantities, technical specifications, and instrument selection based on dam type. Define qualifying criteria for instrumentation and monitoring systems. Conduct third-party CS&QA inspections and manage transmittals. Facilitate capacity building of DRIP IAs through customized training programs at various levels. Contribute to the revision of existing guidelines and the formulation of new guidelines related to instrumentation and monitoring. Provide inputs for the National Website for dam safety information and the MIS system. Support the development of in-house expertise at select Academic Institutes. Develop the Training Calendar for DHARMA implementation and customized training programs on Instrumentation and Monitoring Systems for the annual DRIP Calendar. Conduct need-based inspections of DRIP dams. Accompany central DSRP panels for special dam safety issues. Manage any DRIP-related activities assigned by the Project Director, DRIP, CWC.
