Job Summary The Manual Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of software applications through structured manual testing practices. This role involves planning test strategies, executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support smooth product releases. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of testing methodologies, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and user acceptance testing. Identify, document, and track defects using standard defect-tracking tools. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA team members to clarify requirements and resolve issues. Validate application functionality against business requirements and specifications. Participate in requirement reviews and provide test effort estimates. Ensure adherence to established QA processes and contribute to continuous improvement. Prepare and maintain clear testing documentation and reports. Support release cycles by conducting thorough pre-release testing. Mentor junior testers and contribute to QA knowledge sharing. Primary Skills Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies. Proficiency with defect-tracking and test-management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail). Ability to write comprehensive test cases and scenarios from requirements. Experience testing web and mobile applications. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate findings clearly. Familiarity with basic database concepts and ability to validate data using SQL (optional but preferred). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Software testing–related certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are an advantage. Strong communication and documentation abilities. Experience 3–7 years of hands-on experience in manual testing within product-based or service-based environments.
