The position
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining the IT security posture, responsible for monitoring and analyzing security logs, alerts, vulnerabilities, and threats to detect and manage IT security incidents across Novo Nordisk. The role involves close collaboration with global stakeholders, regional security teams, and users to ensure timely communication, escalation, and resolution of incidents. The position also oversees key security systems like the SIEM and Global Intrusion Defense platform, ensuring effective log collection and intrusion detection. Additionally, it supports vulnerability management by identifying critical risks, coordinating with system owners, and driving remediation efforts.
- Investigate, analyze, and address security alerts, unauthorized activities, and malicious indicators throughout the network by utilizing SIEM, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and related security tools, ensuring prompt escalation and effective resolution of incidents.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, regional security teams, threat intelligence, forensics, and project teams to meet SLAs, support security initiatives, and improve incident handling processes.
- Manage log collection, intrusion detection/prevention, and vulnerability assessment systems, ensuring critical assets report correctly and all security services operate effectively.
- Support vulnerability management by identifying critical risks, communicating them to system owners, driving remediation, and participating in critical vulnerability response processes.
- Contribute to SOC operational excellence through process improvements, false-positive reduction, root cause analysis, IR drills, and continuous enhancement of security monitoring capabilities.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- 3–5 years of core experience in IT security, including a minimum of 3 years in incident response.
- Strong understanding of IT security tools and technologies such as SIEM (e.g., Splunk), antivirus solutions, network security tools, and enterprise network concepts.
- Knowledge of digital forensics, threat intelligence, and security frameworks; security certifications such as CEH are an advantage.
- Experience developing and executing incident response plans and monitoring security alerts to identify potential threats.
- Strong learning mindset, self-driven work approach, and ability to stay updated with evolving cyber-security trends and best practices. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to security policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of computer networks, TCP/IP protocols, network services, and security technologies such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, and SIEM tools.
- Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack types, malware, and industry frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and the Lockheed Martin Kill Chain.
- Ability to analyze, correlate, and interpret security logs and alerts across on-prem, cloud, and OT environments while reducing false positives.
- Skilled in communicating security risks, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting remediation, SLAs, and security operations process improvements.
