Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities Rinsing: to be carried out in CSSD. Cleaning: Manually or by ultrasound washers for ensuring adequate cleanliness. Drying: All items must be appropriately dried. Inspection and Assembly: Each item must be inspected for functionality, defects and Breakages. Packaging: must be done in porous material e.g. linen, paper. Each pack should not exceed 25 cm x 25 cm in size and 5 kgs in weight. Labelling: The labelling note on pack must carry: oNomenclature of article oContents of pack oInitials of packer oInitials of person who carried out sterilization oDate of sterilization oShelf life Sterilization: must be carried out on sterilizers in good state of maintenance and repair as per manufacturers specifications. Storage: Sterile and unsterile stores should be separate and there should be no intermixing of the items between the two stores. Distribution: Wards send items to CSSD and stock is supplied after sterilization.
