Carrefour, a leading global retailer, is seeking a dynamic CSR Specialist to champion sustainable material management within our India operations. As a key member of our team in India, you will play a vital role in ensuring the ethical and environmental integrity of our sustainable sourcing programs, with a primary focus on organic cotton. You will drive operational excellence and build strong relationships with suppliers and implementation partners across India. Responsibilities: Project Management & Operational Follow-up: Oversee the operational aspects of the organic cotton project in India, including capacity building activities, premium payment checks, third-party testing and other core activities like certifications, contract management and chain of custody. Evaluate the performance of third parties, implementation bodies, and suppliers operating in India. Manage the grievance mechanism helpline at the ginning/farm level in India. Conduct social conditions checks and analysis at the farm level in India. Conduct audits for traceability, certification, and transaction related documentation. Proactively identify and escalate certification delays that may impact production timelines. Recommend suitable factories for nomination in organic, IC2, and other sustainable programs. Ensure timely management of data, records and databases Conduct trainings for suppliers and Carrefour teams as needed. Beyond Operations: Maintain knowledge of various sustainable initiatives (BCI, OCA, CmiA, Cotton Campaign, etc.). Research and share market intelligence on sustainable material innovations. Explore partnership opportunities with farm groups, ginners, and implementation bodies/NGOs globally for organic cotton sourcing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business) or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainable sourcing, CSR, or supply chain management within India. Experience with organic cotton or other sustainable agricultural practices is highly desirable. Strong understanding of certification standards and traceability systems. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
