Position Title: Critical Care Nurse No. of Positions : 10 Location: Livasa Hospital, Amritsar Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Unit (CCU) / NICU Reports to: Nurse Manager / Head of Critical Care Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Critical Care Nurse to join our dynamic team at Livasa Hospital, Amritsar, a leading super-specialty hospital. The Critical Care Nurse will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Critical Care Unit (CCU). This role involves closely monitoring patients, administering life-saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient care. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Provide direct, specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with life-support equipment. Perform thorough assessments of patients' clinical status and provide appropriate interventions. Administer medications, intravenous (IV) fluids, and blood products as per physician orders. Manage and care for ventilators, defibrillators, and other complex medical equipment. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including care plans, assessments, and outcomes. Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with physicians, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Communicate effectively with patients families, providing updates on the patient's condition, treatment options, and care plans. Provide emotional support and guidance to families of critically ill patients, helping them navigate through difficult situations. Emergency Response: Be prepared to act swiftly and effectively in emergency situations, including performing CPR and resuscitation efforts. Assist in emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and chest tube insertion under the direction of attending physicians. Monitoring & Reporting: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and clinical indicators to detect early signs of deterioration. Report changes in patients conditions to the attending physician and adjust care plans accordingly. Quality & Safety: Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control guidelines, and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and care standards. Education & Training: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care. Stay updated with the latest clinical practices and innovations in critical care nursing, and actively participate in training programs and continuing education. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) / GNM or equivalent. Current RN (Registered Nurse) license from a recognized nursing board. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and other critical care certifications as required. Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a Critical Care Unit (ICU) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a hospital setting. Previous experience in a super-specialty hospital or tertiary care center is highly preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong clinical skills in critical care nursing, including patient assessment, care planning, and emergency management. Proficiency in using ICU medical equipment and monitoring devices (e.g., ventilators, ECG monitors, infusion pumps). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to handle stressful and high-pressure situations with professionalism and calmness. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
