Job Description

Job Title: Credit Operations Manager Location: Vadodara, Gujarat Job Responsibilities: 1. Credit Underwriting: - Conduct detailed analysis of credit data and financial statements to assess the creditworthiness of individual and corporate borrowers. - Develop and implement effective credit assessment criteria and underwriting policies. - Evaluate risk factors and make informed decisions on applications for credit. 2. Credit Operations: - Oversee the credit approval process from application intake through to loan disbursement. - Coordinate with various departments (e.g., legal, compliance, risk management) to ensure all necessary documents are complete and compliant with regulations. - Monitor the operational performance of credit products, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and performance metrics. 3. Portfolio Management: - Analyze and manage the loan portfolio to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. - Implement strategies to minimize delinquency and defaults, including monitoring borrowers' repayment behavior. - Regularly prepare reports on portfolio performance and present findings to senior management. 4. Risk Assessment: - Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to credit exposure by applying quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. - Review and suggest improvements to existing risk management frameworks and policies. 5. Team Management: - Lead, mentor, and train the credit assessment team to enhance skills and performance. - Foster a collaborative and productive work environment to achieve departmental objectives. 6. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: - Ensure that all credit operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. - Stay updated with changes in regulations and industry best practices, and implement necessary changes in operations. 7. Stakeholder Collaboration: - Work closely with sales and business development teams to understand market conditions and customer needs. - Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and credit bureaus. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certification is a plus. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit underwriting, credit operations, or a related field, preferably within an NBFC or banking environment. - Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk management principles. - Proven experience in leading teams and managing credit operations effectively. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management. Key Skills: - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. - Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements. - Proficiency in credit analysis tools and software. - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
