As a School Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in helping students navigate their academic challenges, mental health issues, personal growth, and social dynamics, in alignment with the ICSE curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Counseling and Emotional Support: Provide individual and group counseling to students from Grades 1-9 on personal, social, and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, peer pressure, self-esteem issues, and family problems. Assist students in coping with life events like grief, bullying, or trauma. Offer crisis intervention when necessary and connect students with external professionals as required. Academic and Behavioral Support: Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor students' academic progress, offering interventions and strategies to support students who are struggling academically or behaviorally. Assist students in setting academic goals, improving study habits, and overcoming learning difficulties. Implement programs to promote good behavior, positive study habits, and self-discipline. Career and Personal Development Guidance: Provide guidance for students as they begin to explore their career interests and strengths, helping them understand their abilities and potential career paths. Guide older students (Grades 7-9) on making informed decisions about their academic futures, helping them understand course selections and future pathways. Organize workshops or seminars to introduce students to topics such as time management, goal setting, stress management, and career awareness. Social and Peer Interaction: Promote positive peer relationships and assist in resolving conflicts between students, helping them to develop effective communication and conflict resolution skills. Organize and facilitate social-emotional learning programs and workshops, including topics like empathy, team-building, and managing relationships. Work to ensure that the school environment is inclusive, promoting diversity, tolerance, and respect among students. Parent and Teacher Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and the administration to address student concerns and ensure coordinated efforts to support students. Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss students emotional well-being, academic progress, and behavioral issues. Provide workshops or resources to parents on topics like child development, managing stress, and effective communication with children.
