South Indian Chef Helper – Job Description (200 Words) We are seeking a dedicated and energetic South Indian Chef Helper to support our kitchen operations in preparing authentic South Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will assist the head chef in daily food preparation, ingredient handling, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. Key responsibilities include washing, cutting, and organizing vegetables; grinding spices and masalas; preparing batters for idli, dosa, and vada; assisting in cooking gravies, chutneys, sambar, and rasam under supervision; and ensuring timely and efficient service during peak hours. The Chef Helper will be expected to follow traditional South Indian recipes and support the chef in maintaining consistency, taste, and presentation standards. Knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, such as tempering (tadka), pressure cooking, and steaming, is an added advantage. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety and hygiene protocols. This role requires physical stamina, a willingness to learn, and a passion for traditional South Indian food. Prior experience in a South Indian kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
