Role Purpose Responsible for the execution of global transport planning ensuring transport and network SLA's/KPI's are achieved. Experience in handling planning in all modes of transport (air, ocean, road) desirable along with experience of handling different freight forwarders. This role will be front end at the centre of the transport planning operation demonstrating proactive engagement with both customers and freight forwarders. In addition to being a functional operational manager, the FLM will be responsible for the wellbeing, performance and motivation of their team through regular performance dialogues, scheduled 1-2-1's as well as ad-hoc communication and engagement. Key Accountabilities Area Accountabilities To be a 21st Century Manager leading and managing drivers Have clear understanding of Objectives and KPI's applicable to your role and your team Safe, legal and efficient execution of transport planning linked to an agreed network SLA's/KPI's Instil a pro active culture within the Control Tower around the management of planning activities, developing key trends to aid forecasting and cost reduction opportunities. Validate and report in the daily operations meeting, all active shipments Daily operations issue management and resolution for transport planning and any warehouse impact by liasing with internal key stakeholders manage collation of daily/weekly/monthly reporting data for all inbound and final mile transportation, taking responsibility for the "OT" element of OTIF Ownership and accountability for new planner induction,and in collaboration with Quality manager, ensure all required training is undertaken and updated as required by DHL Supply Chain Policies To schedule, prepare and conduct quarterly 1-2-1's with all direct reports in line with OMS guidelines Fostering an environment that promotes sharing of ideas and best practice to the benefit of the network Undertaking step up duties to cover for direct line manager of Warehousing operations manager as required Liaising with internal financial stakeholders to ensure that all inputs in to the departmental planning tool (OTM) translates to both financial reporting and cost to serve Measurement Criteria / KPIs Main Accountabilities EOS and employee engagement People Management Manage disciplinary and grievance in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures Promote positive culture, supporting EOS initiatives To schedule, prepare and conduct quarterly 1-2-1's with all direct reports in line with OMS guidelines Demonstrate DHL Leadership Attributes Requirements for the Job Divisional Experience / Functional Experience Logistic Industry and supervisory level Transport planning experience Line management capabilities Transport legal compliance Active Leadership Key Capabilities Proactive and dynamic Able to work well under pressure Strong communication skills Supervisory skills - managing individual performance/absenteeism/conflict and development Commercial Awareness (impact of KPI's) Shows passion, right first time attitude, can do approach and respect to others Education / Qualification / Certification Requirements Degree in supply chain management (Desirable) Good numerical skills (Essential) Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Essential) Conflict Management /Performance Appraisal/Disciplinary & Grievance Training - (Essential) Good degree of IT literacy (Desirable) Language Level Language Requirements English
