Job Title : Content Editor & Language Editor Location : Rama University, Kanpur Position Type : Full-Time, Permanent Experience : 2-5 years Job Description: Rama University, Kanpur is looking for a talented Content Editor & Language Editor with 2-5 years of experience in content creation, editing, proofreading, and content development. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and refining high-quality written content across various university platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Content Creation & Development : Create, write, and develop compelling, clear, and engaging content for university websites, blogs, academic publications, newsletters, and other digital platforms. Work with academic departments, faculty, and staff to gather information and create content that supports university goals and enhances audience engagement. Develop content strategies and ideas that align with the universitys objectives and priorities. Proofreading & Editing : Proofread and edit all content for accuracy, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to university style and tone. Ensure consistency in language and formatting across all content to maintain a cohesive brand identity. Review and refine drafts, offering constructive feedback to content creators and stakeholders to improve clarity and effectiveness. Review & Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough content reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and quality before publication. Check all materials for grammatical, stylistic, and factual accuracy. Maintain the highest standards of language quality and ensure content aligns with the university's editorial guidelines. Collaboration & Feedback : Work closely with the communications, marketing, and design teams to ensure content is aligned with university campaigns and branding. Collaborate with subject-matter experts to ensure technical and academic content is both accurate and accessible to a broad audience. Provide editorial support and feedback to junior content creators, interns, or colleagues working on content development. Qualifications & Skills: Education : Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Experience : 3-5 years of professional experience in content creation, proofreading, and editing, ideally in an academic or higher education setting. Editing & Proofreading : Exceptional proofreading and editing skills, with a strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and style. Content Development : Experience in creating content for various formats (articles, blogs, web copy, social media, newsletters). Technical Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and editing tools like Grammarly, Hemingway, etc. Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) is a plus. Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to engage with diverse university stakeholders. Time Management : Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within a higher education environment. Familiarity with SEO principles and optimizing content for web and digital platforms. Knowledge of design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) or basic multimedia content creation skills. Ability to adapt content for different audiences, including students, faculty, alumni, and external partners.
