Consultant (Core Java + Groovy + Python) - IT

As a Consultant - IT at Flex located in Chennai, you will play a critical role in implementing SaaS-based supply chain solutions that seamlessly integrate with ERP systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Understanding complex business requirements related to direct procurement and manufacturing, and translating them into scalable technical designs and implementation strategies. - Recommending best-fit configurations and solutions on SaaS platforms aligned with Direct Procurement, Forecasts, Purchase Order Collaboration, Advanced Shipping Notifications, Receipts, and Invoices. - Developing detailed functional and technical specifications tailored to procurement workflows. - Configuring SaaS-based supply chain solutions and collaborating with technical teams to implement integrations and customizations supporting manufacturing operations. - Leading technical solution design discussions with internal product and analytics teams, ensuring alignment with middlewares like WebMethods, EDI, cXML, and databases supporting ERP systems. - Customizing platform features to meet specific sourcing and procurement requirements within a manufacturing environment. - Conducting code and configuration reviews for peer developers, mentoring junior team members, and troubleshooting complex technical issues involving ERP-SaaS integrations and direct procurement flows. - Communicating technical concepts, implementation updates, and issue resolutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Collaborating across global, multicultural teams to support solution delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 5 to 7 years of experience in a technical developer or implementation role, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain. - Strong programming skills in Core Java, Groovy, Python, SQL; basic knowledge of Linux. - Experience with integration technologies such as APIs, XML, Web Services, and B2B protocols (EDI, XML). - Good understanding of SDLC, version control, and SVN practices. - Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps toolchains. - Hands-on experience with at least one SaaS supply chain or procurement platform specialized in direct procurement lifecycle processes. - Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Infor LN, and BaaN in a direct procurement or manufacturing context. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex troubleshooting and integration issues. - Solid understanding of implementation best practices in enterprise software.
