Role Summary The Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities on-site. This role involves managing multiple teams, overseeing project schedules and budgets, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring all work aligns with engineering standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management, a deep understanding of power plant projects, and the leadership skills to drive project success. Role & responsibilities Project & Site Management: Oversee daily construction activities , ensuring that all tasks are completed as per project plans, schedules, and quality standards. Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain alignment on project goals. Develop and manage project schedules , tracking progress against key milestones and implementing corrective actions when needed. Handle resource allocation , including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize site productivity. Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential risks, quality issues, or safety concerns, and implement immediate solutions. Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and manage project budgets , tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Review and approve vendor contracts , purchase orders, and change orders, ensuring alignment with project financial goals. Forecast potential cost overruns and proactively address issues to keep the project within budget. Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce construction safety protocols in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and reduce incidents. Ensure full compliance with local, state, and national construction laws and environmental regulations . Leadership & Team Coordination: Lead and motivate on-site construction teams , fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives, consultants, and senior management , providing regular project updates. Resolve conflicts or delays by making decisive, strategic decisions to keep the project on track. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Masters degree is a plus). 15+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in power plants or large infrastructure projects . Strong understanding of engineering principles , construction methodologies , and project management practices . Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, high-value projects on time and within budget. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD) will be added advantage. In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards (e.g., OSHA, IS codes) and risk management practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills .
