Computer Operator (Data Entry)

Job Title: Computer Operator – Goods / Inventory Data Entry
Department: Supply Chain / Inventory Management
Reports To: Inventory Manager / Warehouse Supervisor

1) Role Overview

The Data Entry Analyst for Goods is responsible for accurately recording, updating, and maintaining product-related data within the company’s inventory or goods management system. The role ensures that all incoming, outgoing, and stored goods are correctly documented to support smooth warehouse, logistics, and purchasing operations.

2) Key Responsibilities

• Enter and update product information such as item codes, descriptions, quantities, prices, and vendor details.
• Record all goods received (GRN), dispatched goods, and stock transfers into the system.
• Verify accuracy of source documents including delivery notes, purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists.
• Maintain up-to-date and organized digital records for all goods transactions.
• Report data inconsistencies, missing information, or discrepancies to relevant departments.
• Assist in regular stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
• Generate daily/weekly reports on stock levels, goods movement, and data status.
• Ensure all entries comply with company standards and data integrity protocols.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and accounts teams to ensure accurate documentation.

3) Skills & Qualifications

• Strong typing and data entry skills with high accuracy.
• Good understanding of inventory terminology and goods handling processes.
• Strong attention to detail and data-quality mindset.
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, filtering, data cleaning).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
