Job Title: Compliance Officer (HR Department) Department: Human Resources (Compliance & Legal) Location: Surat Reporting To: Head – Human Resources Job Purpose: To ensure the organization’s human resources practices are compliant with all applicable labor laws, statutory requirements, and internal policies across all manufacturing units and branches. The role involves monitoring, auditing, and updating compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to legal standards, and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability. Key Responsibilities: 1. Statutory & Legal Compliance: Ensure timely compliance with all applicable labour laws including: Provident Fund (PF) Employee State Insurance (ESI) Professional Tax (PT) Gratuity Labour Welfare Fund Factories Act Shops & Establishment Acts (state-specific) Police Verification Monitor and ensure compliance with POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act across all locations. Maintain updated knowledge of Central & State-specific employment legislations applicable to the jewelry manufacturing industry. 2. Audit & Documentation: Conduct periodic internal compliance audits for all factory and office locations. Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date compliance documents, registers, reports, and records. Ensure the proper display of statutory notices and maintenance of statutory registers as required by law. 3. Vendor & Contractor Compliance: Ensure third-party contractors/vendors (labour suppliers, housekeeping, security, etc.) adhere to statutory norms and provide necessary compliance documents. Conduct regular audits and issue notices in case of non-compliance. 4. Branch Coordination & Monitoring: Support and monitor compliance implementation across branches Act as the central SPOC for all branch HRs or Admins on compliance-related queries or requirements. 5. Government Liaison & Inspections: Liaise with government authorities such as Labour Department, PF Office, ESI Department, Factory Inspector, etc. Represent the company during statutory inspections or inquiries and prepare reports accordingly. 6. Policy & Process Development: Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and SOPs in line with legal requirements. Support in POSH Committee formation, meetings, documentation, and awareness sessions. 7. Reporting & MIS: Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance dashboards. Submit compliance status reports and risk alerts to the HR Head/Management. Track renewal dates of licenses, registrations, and statutory submissions. Key Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of Indian Labour Laws and Statutory Compliances Strong organizational and documentation skills Excellent communication and coordination abilities Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and HRIS/Payroll tools Detail-oriented and highly ethical Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law / HR / Business Administration 4–6 years of experience in HR Compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or labor-intensive industry Experience in handling multi-location statutory compliance is preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month Benefits: Flexible schedule Food provided Health insurance Leave encashment Paid sick time Paid time off Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
