Job Title: Commis 1 Department: Kitchen Reports To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef Job Summary:The Commis 1 is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to standard recipes and guidelines under the supervision of senior chefs. This role involves assisting in all kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food quality. Key Responsibilities:Prepare ingredients and cook food items as per recipes and instructions. Assist senior chefs in various kitchen sections (hot, cold, pastry, etc.). Ensure food is prepared and presented in a timely and appealing manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation at all times. Follow food safety and hygiene standards strictly. Properly store and label ingredients and food items. Report any kitchen equipment maintenance issues to the supervisor. Work cooperatively and respectfully with the kitchen team. Adhere to company and kitchen policies and procedures. Requirements:Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen. Culinary diploma or equivalent certification is preferred. Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
