Colorist (DaVinci Resolve)

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Colorist to join our video production team.  Your sole focus will be to elevate our video projects through expert color correction and grading.  

The ideal candidate is a master of DaVinci Resolve's Color page, possessing a deep understanding of color theory, color science, and visual storytelling. You are passionate about the craft and meticulous in your execution, from balancing initial shots to creating complex, stylized looks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform expert primary and secondary color correction to balance and match shots from various cameras and lighting conditions. 
• Develop and execute creative color grades that align with the project's narrative, mood, and brand identity.
• Work proficiently with professional camera formats (Log, RAW) and understand the proper color science workflows. 
• Ensure pristine skin tones, color consistency, and overall image integrity.
• Utilize DaVinci Resolve's full suite of color tools, including nodes, Power Windows, qualifiers, and curves, to achieve precise results. 
• Analyze and interpret video scopes (Waveform, Vectorscope, Parade) to make accurate technical and creative decisions. 
•  Collaborate closely with the director and creative team to interpret their vision and bring it to life. 
• Perform final quality control checks to ensure flawless technical and creative output.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A strong, professional showreel or portfolio is mandatory

  Your portfolio must showcase a high level of skill in color correction and creative grading across different styles.

• Expert-level proficiency in the DaVinci Resolve Color page and post-production workflows. 
• A sophisticated artistic eye for color, light, and composition. 
• Deep understanding of color theory, color spaces, LUTs, scopes (waveform, vector, parade), and color calibration. Experience working with footage from Sony FX series, Canon Cinema, Blackmagic, and RED cameras.
• Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality. 
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative ideas and interpret feedback effectively. 
• Ability to work independently, manage project deadlines, and maintain a clear file structure.

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience working with a color grading control surface (e.g., Blackmagic Design Panels). 
• Experience with HDR grading and delivery workflows. 
• Knowledge of conforming workflows from Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
