Job Description

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and maintain our database infrastructure.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS environments, database replication, clustering, failover, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and optimal performance of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments.
  • Manage and optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery drills.
  • Work with AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM) to manage cloud-based database infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and monitoring.
  • Perform query optimization and performance tuning using pgAdmin and related tools.
  • Configure and manage pgBouncer for connection pooling.
  • Manage AWS DMS for data migration and synchronization.
  • Monitor databases proactively and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in production environments.
  • Strong expertise in replication, clustering, failover, and high availability solutions.
  • Experience with AWS services RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM.
  • Proficient in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
  • Experience with pgAdmin, pgBouncer, and AWS DMS.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
