Job Description

A CNC/VMC Incharge oversees the operation and maintenance of CNC and VMC machines in a manufacturing facility. They are responsible for ensuring production targets are met, quality is maintained, and machines are operated efficiently. This role also involves leading a team of operators, setting up and troubleshooting machines, and implementing process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation & Maintenance: Setting up and preparing CNC and VMC machines for production, including installing and aligning tools, fixtures, and workpieces. Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring machines are operating safely and efficiently. Production & Quality: Monitoring machine operation, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and accuracy of finished parts. Conducting first-piece inspections and approving production runs. Team Leadership: Supervising and training CNC/VMC operators, delegating tasks, and ensuring they meet performance standards. Promoting a culture of safety and quality. Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in machine setup, programming, and process optimization. Implementing Kaizen initiatives and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Inventory Management: Maintaining tooling inventory and ensuring proper storage and ordering of consumable items. Communication & Collaboration: Working closely with programmers, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow and address any issues that arise. Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical knowledge of CNC and VMC machines, including their operation, maintenance, and programming. Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of tool selection, offsets, and work holding techniques. Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in using relevant software and tools. Experience with quality control procedures and metrics.
