Tooling: Change and adjust cutting tools as needed, including performing tool offsets.
Inspection and quality control: Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to inspect finished parts for accuracy using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
Problem-solving: Adjust machine settings, post-edit programs to optimize performance, and troubleshoot any malfunctions to ensure parts are within tolerance.
Production support: Perform first-piece inspections and monitor the machine during operation to ensure all parts are produced on schedule and to quality standards.
Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance to ensure the machine runs smoothly.
Documentation: Keep accurate records and documentation of machine actions and production.
Workplace management: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all company policies.

Requirements and skills

Experience: Experience in setting up and operating CNC machines.
Technical skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
Measurement skills: Experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Programming knowledge: Familiarity with CNC programming and control systems (e.g., Fanuc).
Quality focus: Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict quality requirements and tolerances.
Troubleshooting: Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve on the fly.
