CNC Setter/Operator

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled CNC Setter with proven experience in setting and operating CNC machinery to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision engineering, the ability to read technical drawings, and a proactive approach to problem-solving on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., Milling/Turning—please specify).
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets to achieve required tolerances.
• Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Work closely with supervisors and programmers to optimise machining processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
• Troubleshoot issues and minimise downtime.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of machining principles and cutting tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
• Experience using measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work additional hours or shifts if required.

Desirable

• Basic CNC programming knowledge.
