Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for various tasks related to CNC programming, process development, collaboration, and quality assurance. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Develop and write efficient CNC programs (e.g., G-code) for milling, turning, and other CNC operations using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Siemens NX CAM. - Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine optimal machining strategies and toolpaths. - Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling based on part requirements and material properties. - Optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance overall machine productivity. - Assist in the development and validation of new manufacturing processes for product introduction and existing product improvements. - Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and enhanced product quality. - Contribute to troubleshooting manufacturing and machining issues, providing timely and effective solutions. - Work closely with machinists and operators to ensure successful program implementation, machine setup, and troubleshooting on the shop floor. - Collaborate with design engineers to provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM). - Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, tooling lists, setup sheets, and process guidelines. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts. - Ensure that manufactured parts meet all specified tolerances, fit, and finish requirements. - Assist in quality control activities by verifying part dimensions and specifications. Qualifications required for this role include: - 2 years of experience in CNC programming using CAD/CAM software. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). - Familiarity with various CNC machine controls (e.g., FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain). - Understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, materials, and manufacturing processes. - Basic knowledge of shop math, including trigonometry. - Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.). - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Preferred skills for this position include: - Experience with specific CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX. - Experience with Manual Programming. - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. - Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis CNC programming. In addition to the qualifications and responsibilities outlined above, you will also be expected to have skills in CAM, mechanical design, CNC programming, and SolidWorks.,
