Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and Program CMM & Contour Equipment: Set up and operate CMMs and contour tracers to perform detailed dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies.
  • Program Development: Develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs using metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, Mcosmos) for first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Interpret Engineering Data: Accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles (ASME Y14.5) to establish correct measurement strategies.
  • Analyze and Document Results: Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformities, and generate detailed inspection reports and documentation in compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001/AS9100).
  • Collaboration and Problem Solving: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Perform routine maintenance, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting of CMM and contour equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and contribute insights for enhancing manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Mentorship: Train and mentor junior team members on CMM operations, programming, and best inspection practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 2+ years) operating and/or programming CMM equipment in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
  • Familiarity with other precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
