You will take on a crucial beat with a wide remit, focusing on the actions of policymakers, investors, executives, consumers and scientists. The successful applicant will have a deep curiosity for the intersection of climate with business, society and politics, and be adept at delivering both market-moving scoops and impactful feature stories.You will need to uncover the most compelling news from a country that's one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions and faces among the world’s toughest green challenges – boosting economic growth and prosperity while simultaneously attempting to reduce its climate footprint.You will also need the ability to smartly explain the country’s increasing importance in clean technology, sustainable finance and climate diplomacy, to show how green developments in India have a global impact, and to utilize the full range of our platforms.
We’ll Trust You To
- Generate story and project ideas that detail the impact of climate change on India, and vividly illustrate the actions, trends and personalities that are shaping the nation's responses
- Break news on issues including climate and environmental policymaking, green investing and the nation's clean technology sector
- Connect the dots to pitch ambitious feature stories that span Bloomberg's platforms and makes our content accessible to a diverse and business-savvy audience
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across teams, bureaus and continents to deliver a global perspective to our readers
You’ll Need To Have
- At least 5 years of experience in business journalism
- Experience in real-time news environment
- Proven track record reporting and writing about business in India
- Demonstrated success in building your own sources to break news
- Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Strong communication skills
We’d Love To See
- Familiarity with journalism across platforms, including digital, video, podcasts and data visualization
- Preferably experience covering climate change
