Job Description Ford uses a customized Ubuntu OS primarily in its Research & Development centers, focusing on Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) Selected individuals will lead efforts related to the engineering, implementation, and ongoing support and maintenance of Ford’s Landscape Management System and all activities related to the Ubuntu Global Client MDM. This person will be expected to partner with resources across multiple teams globally and document/manage project plans for each project using JIRA, including documenting risks/issues for management to ensure that the objectives are completed on time. This individual is expected to demonstrate strong Ubuntu and Landscape Management System Admin/Technical skills as well as Project Management skills. Creativity and analytical thinking will be used to shape the design and control implementation of key client strategies. This position is suited to someone who is both comfortable working independently and also collaborating with both Ubuntu Global Client Engineering and external teams/suppliers, as well as department leadership. Responsibilities Manage Landscape (Linux Clients Management Tool) Application & Database servers Infrastructure Maintain the health and efficiency of the 3 Landscape Environments (DEV, QA, and PROD) Daily monitoring of the Landscape System (removing duplicate hosts, removing old activities, confirming weekly repository synchronizations) Yearly SSL Certificate Renewal Quarterly Server Patching Client License Management, including load balancing, assisting purchasing, and installations. Application publishing and clean-up. Creating new local repositories to support OS launches (every other year) Cleaning up old repos when required Server Resource management Yearly firewall attestation Creating scripts and CRON jobs to support Global Client needs (annotations) Maintain Production passwords in Beyond Trust Digital Envelope Server OS upgrade (currently 18.04.6 LTS – either new servers or existing upgrade) Enroll Landscape servers in Active Directory Landscape upgrade (currently running 19.04) Landscape accessible from public internet MFA for Landscape console Ubuntu Client Operating System Life Cycle Management Automation using Shell Scripting Work with vendor (Canonical) for problem resolution when needed. Qualifications Education Qualification : B.E. Computer Science, MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science Number of Years Experience : 0-4 Preferred previous experiences /competencies to prepare for the position (Including required qualifications) Education Qualification : B.E. Computer Science, MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science Number of Years Experience : 0-4 Technical Skills Required(must Have) Strong knowledge of Linux Client Management using Landscape or Microsoft Intune Strong knowledge of Landscape or Microsoft Intune Administration Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL Database Strong knowledge of Linux Operating System & Architecture Strong knowledge & experience on Ubuntu Client & Other Linux Client Administration Strong understanding of Linux system internals, including kernel, file systems, and networking Strong knowledge & experience in Shell Scripting Knowledge & experience in configuring advanced Network Settings on Ubuntu/Linux Systems (DNS, DHCP, VPN) Knowledge & experience in configuring Active Directory utilities for Linux Knowledge of JSON queries Strong Project Management, team leadership, and multi-tasking skills using an Agile approach PC/Laptop-based technical support expertise with Ubuntu Nice to Have Skills: Knowledge & experience of Linux Client Management using MS Intune Knowledge & experience of Device Compliance implementation Knowledge & experience of Microsoft Conditional Access Policies implementation Experience using JIRA for project management Leadership: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
