Civil Surveyor

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities: Conduct detailed land surveys, mapping and measuring topography, boundaries, and other geographical features. Utilize various surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS systems, and laser scanners, to collect accurate data. Prepare, process, and maintain survey records, reports, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure accurate integration of survey data into project planning and execution. Ensure that all surveying work complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Provide consultation and advice to clients based on survey findings, including possible impacts on development or construction projects. Perform research on legal land descriptions, property ownership, and other historical data relevant to surveying. Oversee and inspect the condition of survey tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance. Manage multiple survey projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deadlines and quality standards are met. Preferred Candidate Profile: Education: Bachelors degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Certifications: Professional certification/licensure as a Surveyor (e.g., LS, PLS) is highly preferred. Skills: Proficiency with surveying tools and technologies (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Civil 3D). Strong understanding of land surveying techniques and legal regulations. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in field and office settings. Effective communication skills to explain technical data to non-experts. Additional Qualifications: Experience with drone surveying, remote sensing, or 3D modeling technologies is a plus.
