Key duties include creating blueprints using computer modeling and survey data, managing project budgets and timelines, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and coordinating with various professionals like architects and contractors. Core responsibilitiesDesign and planning:Plan, design, and oversee construction projects such as buildings, bridges, roads, and water and sewage systems.Use computer-aided design (CAD) and other software to create blueprints and project plans.Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations, analyzing data from soil tests, maps, and aerial photographs.Project management:Manage budgets, project resources, and procurement of materials and equipment.Schedule and coordinate project activities to ensure timely and on-budget completion.Liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors.Construction supervision and compliance:Monitor construction progress and inspect job sites to ensure adherence to designs, specifications, and safety standards.Secure necessary permits and ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Assess and mitigate project risks and environmental impacts.Maintenance and repair:Develop plans for the repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.
