Job Title: Civil Head Location: Pune Department: Infrastructure & Facilities Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Head Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Civil Head to oversee all civil engineering and infrastructure-related activities for our automotive manufacturing plants and facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project planning, construction management, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the Civil Head will play a key role in Product Engineering Process (PEP) by ensuring that infrastructure development aligns with new product launches, production facility modifications, and testing requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Plant Infrastructure & Facility Management Oversee the construction, expansion, and maintenance of manufacturing plants, warehouses, and office spaces . Ensure infrastructure is aligned with production and operational needs , supporting automation and new technologies. Manage utilities, drainage, HVAC systems, and fire safety compliance . 2. Project Planning, Execution & PEP Alignment Lead civil engineering projects for new production lines, testing labs, and vehicle assembly areas. Work closely with Product Engineering Process (PEP) teams to ensure timely infrastructure readiness for new vehicle models and component testing . Ensure facility modifications support the latest manufacturing techniques, robotics, and quality control processes. 3. Vendor & Contractor Management Evaluate and manage civil contractors, architects, and construction teams . Ensure quality control, cost efficiency, and timely execution of projects. Review and approve construction materials, contracts, and work orders . 4. Safety & Environmental Compliance Implement safety measures and ensure adherence to fire, structural, and environmental laws . Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain safety and compliance. Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities. 5. Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage budgets for infrastructure development and maintenance . Optimize costs by ensuring efficient utilization of resources . 6. Facility Expansion & Upgrades Plan infrastructure expansions to support new product launches and production line modifications . Ensure facilities are optimized for new technologies like EV manufacturing, battery assembly, and advanced testing labs . Support the installation of new production equipment by modifying plant layouts and ensuring strong foundations. 7. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams (PEP Integration) Work with R&D, Production, and Quality Teams to align infrastructure with Product Engineering Process (PEP) . Ensure test labs, prototype development centers, and validation areas are ready before new product launches. Coordinate with Logistics & Supply Chain Teams for warehouse design, material flow, and vehicle dispatch infrastructure. Key Requirements: Education & Experience: Bachelors/Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 18 to 20 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment . Proven track record in plant infrastructure development, facility expansion, and project execution . Technical Skills: Expertise in industrial construction, structural design, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems. Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental laws, and building codes . Experience in AutoCAD, project management tools, and civil engineering software . Understanding of Product Engineering Process (PEP) and its impact on facility requirements. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and cost control .
