Role & responsibilities Job Summary: The General Manager Civil will be responsible for overseeing the civil engineering aspects of wastewater treatment plant projects, including design, construction, pipeline installation, and tendering processes. The candidate should have 12 to 17 years of experience in water treatment plants, pipeline projects, and tender-based civil works. Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Execution: Lead the civil engineering team in the planning, design, and execution of wastewater treatment plant projects. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in wastewater infrastructure projects. Oversee construction activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects. Manage pipeline installation and associated civil works related to wastewater treatment facilities. Tendering & Contract Management: Prepare, review, and evaluate tender documents, bids, and contracts for civil works. Negotiate with contractors and vendors to ensure the best terms for the organization. Ensure compliance with government regulations and client specifications in tendering processes. Technical & Engineering Oversight: Provide technical guidance for structural, geotechnical, and hydraulic aspects of wastewater projects. Review and approve civil design plans, construction drawings, and material specifications. Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. Team & Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal departments for smooth project execution. Lead a team of engineers and site supervisors, ensuring effective resource allocation and performance management. Address technical challenges and provide solutions to mitigate risks in construction and pipeline projects. Expertise in water treatment infrastructure, sewage networks, and drainage systems. Strong knowledge of tendering processes, contract negotiation, and project budgeting. Familiarity with relevant IS codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management tools.
