Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Description

Develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with the Company\u2019s vision and goals. Lead the preparation of five-year rolling plans, annual budgets, and financial forecasts. Provide actionable insights through monthly and quarterly financial reports, variance analyses, and sustainability projections. Accounting, Compliance & Controls Ensure timely and accurate accounting, reporting, and completion of statutory audits. Maintain compliance with legal and statutory requirements including the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and FCRA. Implement and monitor strong internal financial controls across all operational units. Financial Systems & Reporting Oversee key financial functions including revenue collection, financial reporting, and payroll processing. Ensure all financial reports comply with regulatory standards and accepted accounting practices. Fund Management & Treasury Collaborate with the COO to manage funds, cash flows, and investments. Optimize capital deployment and maintain strong banking relationships. Risk Management & Legal Oversight Serve as the Risk Manager for the Company, including its managed units. Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts across departments. Review and oversee legal contracts with third-party vendors and capital partners. Capital Projects Monitor the financial aspects of construction and infrastructure projects. Oversee fund utilization, tendering, contracting, and legal due diligence. Board Governance Support the Board of Directors. Uphold governance best practices and ensure transparent board-level financial reporting. Requirements Requirements Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Works Accountant (ICWA/CMA) Additional credentials such as CS or MBA (Finance) are a plus. 1525 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in the education, nonprofit, or service-driven sectors. Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, financial reporting, and risk management. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex financial systems. Excellent spreadsheet and database skills, with working knowledge of legal contracting.
