Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) for Chemistry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of scientific principles and be able to deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons to secondary school students (Grades 6-10). The TGT Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for creating a stimulating classroom environment, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking, and guiding students through key scientific concepts in areas such as biology, chemistry, and physics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Instruction:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive Science lessons (covering biology, chemistry, and physics) for secondary school students (Grades 6-10) in line with the curriculum.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including hands-on experiments, demonstrations, multimedia tools, and interactive activities, to make Science engaging and accessible.
  • Foster students’ scientific inquiry, encourage experimentation, and help them develop analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
  • Regularly assess students' understanding of scientific concepts through tests, assignments, quizzes, projects, and practical work.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their performance and understanding.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance and report regularly to parents regarding achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Create and maintain a positive, safe, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies, ensuring focus and discipline during lessons, especially during practical sessions and experiments.
  • Promote independent thinking, group collaboration, and critical discussions among students to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Curriculum & Lesson Planning:
  • Follow the prescribed Science curriculum and ensure all key topics and concepts are effectively taught.
  • Design and implement well-structured lesson plans, assessments, and activities that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Use practical experiments, demonstrations, and field trips to supplement theoretical lessons and bring real-world applications into the classroom.
  • Communication with Parents & Staff:
  • Regularly communicate with parents about student progress, achievements, and areas requiring additional support.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events to build strong relationships with families and support student learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Science department to share best practices, teaching resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in Science education, including the latest research, teaching methodologies, and technological advancements.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities such as workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
  • Reflect on teaching practices, seek feedback, and continuously strive to improve as an educator.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supervise students during practical science sessions, experiments, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Contribute to the planning and organization of school events, such as Science fairs, exhibitions, or competitions.
  • Maintain detailed records of student grades, assignments, and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching certification is required.
  • Specialized training or certification in teaching Science subjects is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting (Grades 6-10).
  • Experience in teaching a broad range of Science subjects (Chemistry) is desirable.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies across biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and engagingly.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology, educational software, and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹33,000.00 per month
