Location: 4th Floor, DLH Park, Swami Vivekananda Rd, opposite Shoppers Stop, Bharucha Baug, Parsi Colony, Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400058 Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting, holding CFA qualification experience in demonstrating financial expertise in valuation, financial modeling, and risk management. or a related field. • Experience working with retail clients or understanding of the jewelry industry is highly beneficial. Understanding the intricacies of luxury retail operations, sales cycles, and customer acquisition costs can be a plus. Salary: 5- 6 LPA, Negotiable on last drawn as per Industry standards Key Responsibilities: • Financial Modeling for Jewelry Businesses-Revenue Forecasting: Project sales growth based on factors like market trends (e.g., demand for specific jewelry types, precious metals, or diamonds), retail pricing strategies, and consumer behavior. • Cash Flow Analysis: Due to the high working capital requirements of retail jewelry (inventory management, vendor payments, etc.), you'd focus heavily on cash flow projections and understanding seasonality in sales. • Cost Structure Analysis: Understanding the high fixed and variable costs (e.g., sourcing materials, labor costs for custom jewelry, and operating retail stores) and how they affect margins. • Valuation of Jewelry Companies-Comparable Company Analysis (CCA): Identify publicly traded jewelry companies to benchmark performance and market multiples. • Discounted Cash Flow (DCF): Build DCF models to determine the intrinsic value of a jewelry company, taking into account capital expenditures related to inventory, store openings, and marketing campaigns. • Asset-Based Valuation: This is especially important in the jewelry industry, where the value of physical inventory (precious metals, gemstones) can be a substantial portion of a company’s assets. • Due Diligence and Risk Assessment • Inventory Management: Due diligence would involve assessing inventory levels, aging inventory risks (how long inventory stays unsold), and working capital requirements. • Supply Chain & Sourcing: Jewelry companies often source materials globally. Assessing supplier contracts, sourcing risks (e.g., conflict diamonds, ethical sourcing), and understanding market price fluctuations for metals like gold and platinum is crucial. Key Requirements: • Market Trends: Evaluate trends in consumer preferences, the impact of digital sales (ecommerce in jewelry), and the effect of economic factors (e.g., consumer confidence, disposable income). • Strategic Advisory for M&A or Growth • Acquisition Target Analysis: In the case of mergers or acquisitions, assess potential targets in the jewelry space. This could involve advising on smaller jewelry chains, online platforms, or even diamond mines that complement an existing brand. • Brand Valuation and Positioning: Retail jewelry brands often carry significant intangible value (e.g., brand perception, celebrity endorsements). Understanding how this translates into financials is critical. • Financial Reporting & Investor Presentations-Prepare comprehensive financial reports for investors, showcasing the potential for returns based on financial models and market positioning. Present findings to senior stakeholders, especially in terms of mergers, acquisitions, and financing activities, keeping in mind the specific challenges and nuances of the retail jewelry sector. • Industry Experience: Experience working with retail clients or understanding of the jewelry industry is highly beneficial.
